WORK STARTS ON MELLOR BROOK HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

April 30, 2026

HIGH quality homes aim to benefit the community in Mellor Brook for years to come, with a £500,000 investment in the area.

We have commenced work at our latest Lancashire development, in a historic Ribble Valley village.

The 121-home development on Myerscough Smithy Road in Mellor Brook is named Weaver’s Rise. It will include 78 three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes plus 43 homes available with a 30% discount via affordable rent.

The proposed development has been carefully designed to respond to a Housing Need report, offering a diverse mix of tenures and house types that reflect local needs. This includes homes for existing residents of Mellor Brook as well as those looking to move into the community, helping to ensure long‑term housing choice and sustainability for the village.

Michael Orgill, managing director at Prospect Homes said: “Breaking ground at Weaver’s Rise marks an exciting step forward for Prospect Homes. This development gives us a real opportunity to meet local housing needs and deliver high‑quality homes that will benefit the community for years to come.”

The development will deliver more than £500,000 of investment into the local area, including contributions towards secondary education provision and enhancements to public open space.

It will also deliver a 10% biodiversity net gain, achieved through the retention of existing hedgerows and mature treelines, alongside the planting of native trees and the creation of a new wildflower meadow.

Sales are expected to launch in December 2026. To keep up to date with the development, visit: www.prospecthomes.co.uk/weavers-rise-register-interest/
