SAY HELLO TO OUR NEW MD

November 15, 2023

Michael Orgill has been appointed as managing director of Prospect Homes as Nigel Yates announces his retirement.

“I’m so proud to take on this role and I’m really looking forward to being part of Prospect’s continued success,” says 40-year-old Michael.

Michael, who is originally from Rotherham, said it was a number of things that attracted him to Prospect Homes: “I knew the company were a solid regional developer but the one thing that really stuck out to me was the fact that all profits are reinvested into social value work and communities across the UK through Prospect’s connection with Riverside. I also supported the vision of the business and saw myself being part of that over the next few years.”

Michael said his immediate priorities will be to work closely with the sales team to look at how they can maintain sales rates and explore how the business can help customers into homeownership as well as ensuring their development pipeline moves forward: “We have four sites that we are aiming to commence work on over the next 12 months which will deliver 580 homes on top of our existing developments at Whalley and Burscough. We also need to continue growing our land bank and are actively looking for new land opportunities.”

Michael said his predecessor Nigel has laid a great foundation for him to pick up and he is working closely with him during the transition period.

Michael brings with him years of extensive experience. Starting his career at Keepmoat he has worked in various roles including land and partnerships director at Seddon and Keepmoat Homes before becoming a regional director and then regional managing director for the West Yorkshire business unit in May 2022. Michael is also a non-executive director at Auxesia Homes.

Michael, who now lives in Cheshire with his wife and young daughter, says his commute is much easier now as he’s gone from commuting from Cheshire to Leeds to Liverpool: “It’s an added bonus that my new role is a lot closer to home. Prospect’s offices in Liverpool are much easier to get to and our developments across Lancashire are all within easy reach.”

Nigel will work behind the scenes with Michael until the end of the year to ensure the handover process is smooth.
