We are supporting commercial admin assistant Alice Harvey as she takes the next step in her career, beginning a Quantity Surveying degree at Liverpool John Moore’s University.

We are hugely committed to investing in our people, and Alice’s journey reflects our ongoing focus on nurturing skills and longterm progression across the business.

Alice, 26, joined Prospect Homes in 2024 after beginning her career in the interior design industry. “I did a bachelor’s degree in visual merchandising and a master’s in interior design, but once I started working in the industry, I realised it wasn’t quite what I’d imagined. I wanted to try something completely different, so I joined Prospect Homes,” she said.

Since starting, Alice has worked closely with head of commercial, Martin Opara, who soon recognised her potential. “After working alongside Martin, he could see I’d be wellsuited to Quantity Surveying. I’d been supporting him with tenders, onboarding subcontractors and tracking payments, so it felt like a natural next step and it’s great that I’m being supported by Prospect,” Alice added.

As a company we are committed to developing and supporting our people and regularly fund professional qualifications such as NVQ Level 7 Management Diplomas and construction NVQs at no cost to staff.

We also champion industry inclusivity through our involvement in the HBF’s Women into Home Building scheme, welcoming female site management candidates to developments – one of whom is now a permanent employee. In addition, we have joined the HBF’s Partner a College programme to help better align vocational education with industry needs, recently hosting students from Burnley College at our Burnley development.
