PROSPECT HOMES GETS GREEN LIGHT ON MILESTONE BURNLEY DEVELOPMENT

December 20, 2023

We’re delighted to share that we have secured planning consent from Burnley Borough Council for 200 new homes on Woodplumpton Road, Burnley.

The 21-acre site will be our largest site as we continue to grow our presence across the North West.

The 200 homes will range in size from two to four-bedrooms and 180 will be available for private sale, with the remaining 10% being allocated as affordable homes, which is double the planning policy requirement. These homes will be available through shared ownership or affordable rent.

Michael Orgill, managing director at Prospect Homes said: “This is a huge accomplishment for Prospect Homes and we are now looking forward to starting on site in May 2024 and subsequently launching sales.  This development will be a great place to live with high-quality homes and green, open space and all with great connectivity to the wider area.”

We will invest over £1.2 million in the local community including over £560,000 in education, £75,000 for offsite public open space, £130,000 for offsite highway improvements and over £380,000 for offsite biodiversity.

The development will also have two Local Areas of Play (LAPs) and two hectares of public open space across three areas including a central green corridor.

We are committed to building sustainable homes and in line with the key development plan for the area, homes will incorporate measures to minimise energy and water consumption with energy supply coming from renewable and low carbon energy sources.

Every home at this site will have solar panels fitted and vehicle charging points.

In terms of location, it’s close to junction 10 of the M65. The nearest bus stop is located 120 yards away meaning it is ideally located for commuters to and from Burnley Town Centre. Burnley has two train stations with regular services to Blackpool, York, Kirkby, Blackburn, Colne and Preston.

Amenities within walking distance from the development include primary schools and a secondary school, Burnley Golf Club, health centres, doctor’s surgeries, community centres and supermarkets, shops and restaurants.
