LOCKDOWN HAS HAD SOME SILVER LININGS SAYS DEVELOPER

April 21, 2021

Longridge developer says now is the time for first time buyers to put lockdown savings to good use and get onto the property ladder.

Prospect Homes, the developer behind The Ridings on Whittingham Road, is saying any first-time buyers who managed to save their deposit during lockdown, can use it to buy a number of homes at the development.

And what’s more, Prospect Homes is offering to top up a buyer’s 5% deposit or pay for a range of extras (both up to a maximum value of £5000) and throw in flooring if a home is reserved in May.

Sam Williams, head of sales at Prospect Homes says: “One silver lining that came from being locked down was being unable to spend money on things we usually would such as holidays or eating out. This may have opened a door of opportunity for first time buyers to save their deposit sooner than expected and now be in the position to buy a home.

“We all know that saving for that first house deposit can be difficult, so we want to reward first time buyers who have managed to save a 5% deposit by giving them money towards either a larger deposit or extras and flooring in their home too. They can then put the rest of their savings towards furnishing the home.”

Customers can choose from Prospect’s expansive list of extras and have things such as an upgraded kitchen, upgraded flooring or wardrobes up to the value of £5000.

There are two three-bedroom house styles that come within the Government-backed Help to Buy price threshold of £224,400, the Rutland (£210,000) and the Medlock (£208,000).

Sam continues: “The Help to Buy scheme allows a house to be secured with just a 5% deposit. So for example, the Rutland would require a £10,500 deposit.”

As well as the 5% deposit, buyers will receive a 20% equity loan from the government and have to secure a mortgage for the remaining 75%.

The Rutland comes with many sought-after features such as an open plan kitchen and dining area, a downstairs cloakroom, an en-suite to the main bedroom and a private garden and driveway for two cars.

The Medlock has everything a Rutland does, with the bonus of a handy utility room.

All of Prospect’s homes come with quality kitchens, available in a range of colours that customers can choose from, integrated fridge freezers, Roca bathroom furnishings, Porcelanosa tiles plus much more.

The housebuilder also has discounts available to NHS workers. To find out more speak to the sales team today on 01772 977364 or visit:
